HIDES > PANORAMA HIDE

Location and installation year:
This is one of our mobile hides we use for several bird species. Usually it is located in shallow water in a temporary grazed wetland in the northern part of the Hortobágy National Park. It is usually enclosed by water so birds can go around.
Access:
Usually 100-150 meter walk in knee-deep water.
Size and style:
It is 240 cm wide, 240 cm long and 140 cm high. All the walls are made of special photo-through glass to make it possible to photograph in every direction. It is comfortable for two photographers but can easily take three persons. It has a specially elaborated curtain system. The photographers have to use these curtains properly to get the required result. Information on this system is given beforehand.
Comfort and accessories:
- Access waders in different size
- Special curtain system
- Two large mattresses
- Bean bags
- Ventilators against the steaming up of the glass windows
Regulation:
This hide must usually be entered before dawn. It is possible to leave the hide any time but one has to spend minimum 5 hours in a row once entered.
Recommended Photo Equipment:
All sorts of lenses recommended but 500 mm and 600 mm are the best. Also 300 mm lens for flight and other action shots. Any zoom lenses can be adequate too (70-200; 200-400). Occasionally some species perch right in front of the hide so a wide angle lens can also come in handy. Extenders.
